Brunswick County is served by two international airports located nearby.
Located next door to Brunswick County, Wilmington International Airport (ILM) is one of the most dynamic, hospitable, progressive international airports in the Carolinas. Located midway on the East Coast, this airport serves more than 750,000 passengers and 250,000 meeters and greeters a year. The location of ILM puts you in the center of a 700 mile radius of more than 150 million US and Canadian consumers. Our Wilmington, NC airport offers non-stop flights to 7 major cities including: New York (LGA), Atlanta (ATL), Philadelphia (PHL), Washington DC (DCA), Charlotte (CLT), Orlando-Sanford (SFB), Chicago (ORD) and service to many other cities. ILM has 42 flights scheduled daily and is served by three major US airlines.
The airport has two runways, the longest at 8,007 feet. A single terminal and eight gates provide access. Three fixed base operations (FBO's) currently house over 100 private aircraft at the airport, and a 24-hour US Customs ramp is available for international flights stopping at the airport. The separate terminal was built to serve the 3,200 international flights that land each year (private or charter). The airport's location on the coast, halfway between NYC and Miami, makes it a desirable and less busy entry point to the country.
Myrtle Beach International Airport (MYR) is located 25 miles south of Brunswick County. Myrtle Beach International Airport is served by Delta, Continental, Hooters Air, Northwest Airlines, Spirit Airlines and US Airways offering daily, nonstop flights to over 20 destinations. The airport is in the midst of a redevelopment and expansion plan that will add a new terminal complex and renovate existing terminal facilities in order to better accommodate projected passenger levels.
